Lesson 2
WebBoard's Main Screen

WebBoard is divided into boards and conferences. A list of all NJIT boards is located at http://webboard.njit.edu. Each course has their own board. Each board is made up of one or more Conferences. Conferences can be open to everyone in the class or private so that only certain people can read and post messages. There can be as many Conferences in a board as the instructor needs to teach effectively. Each Conference is composed of messages that are grouped by Topic within the Conference.

The WebBoard main screen is divided into three areas or frames: The Menu Bar, Conferences, and Messages.

The Menu Bar

The top frame contains menus with options. The function of each of these buttons will be presented in a separate page.

When you log into WebBoard, the left frame on your screen contains a list of all the Conferences that have been created on that board. The board below has 8 conferences.

Messages
The right hand frame shows a welcome at first (similar to the one below). This frame will show the messages as you read them.
