You are presented with a listing of available chat rooms and the number of users in each room. In your course, the only available chat room is The Pub. This is the place where you can go to have informal discussions with your classmates. Some students may want to use this  function to meet and discuss issues relating to their group assignment.The picture on the left shows an example with only one chat room named "Introduction".

The image on the right shows the standard Chat window each user sees when entering a chat room. It works exactly like any chat room. Type in your text in the textfield below and your message will appear quoted after "you said". Similarly, whenever another user types a message in their textfield, it will appear in the chat room with their name next to the message.

On the right hand side of the chat box there is a column with the top grey header that specifies the number of users in the chat room. The users are listed under the same column.

For your own convenience you could chose to see the chat box in a separate, smaller window. This can be obtained by clicking on the Float link under the chat box.
